Forklift operator Safety Training

Course Objectives:

The objectives of the course is to evaluate the qualification of operators with regards to the safe operation of a Forklift as follows:

• Forklift operator should be responsible for the correct operation of the Forklift in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and within the safe system of work.
• To operate Forklift to lift, move, position and place materials and equipment.
• He should respond only at one time to one slinger/signaller.
• He should conduct preoperational inspection.
• To calculate capacities and determine load weight. 
• Set up and dismantle the forklift and position and stabilize the forklift before the lift.
• To perform some routine maintenance and housekeeping of the equipment such as lubricating and cleaning. Main consideration is the safety to personnel and safe handling of cargo with no risk of damage.

Course Syllabus:

• Introduction.
• Lift truck safety inspection procedures
• Lift truck design considerations
• How to safely pick up the load
• How to safely move the truck
• How to safely set down the load
• Avoiding Pedestrian Traffic Hazards

Methodology:

Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly.  The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

Minimum qualification:

Be at least 21 years of age.
Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing and reflexes.

Length of Course:

This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.

Course Certification:

Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive  certificates on Forklift Operator Safety Training.

Validity of Certificate: One year.
