Confined Space - Rescue Safety Training

Course Objectives:

This training aims to create and understanding on recognizing, evaluating, and controlling confined space hazards. Promote safe and effective work practices. Follow procedures necessary for any confined space entry. This course also to introduce safety and protection procedures for rescuers, correct use and selection of appropriate equipment and the stabilization and removal of casualties at confined spaces.

Course Syllabus:

• Identify and work safely in high risk confined spaces.
• Identify dangers associated with these areas.
• Plan & implement rescue team operations.
• Work safely and effectively as a rescue team member.
• Understand the human respiratory system.
• Use gas detection equipment in hazardous atmospheres.
• Use personal protective equipment, i.e. ropes, harnesses and man riding hoists.
• Use Safe Systems of Work for entry into confined spaces.
• Utilize various methods of communication.
• Initiate basic life Support procedures (CPR).
• Diseases and personal hygiene associated with confined spaces.
• Awareness of the need for periodic examinations of equipment

Methodology:

Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly. The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

Minimum qualification:

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.

Length of Course: 

This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.

Course Certification:

Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive certificates on Confined Space – Rescue Safety Training

Validity of Certificate: One year
