Mobile Elevating Work Platform Safety Training

Course Objectives:

This course will ensure that operators become competent in the safe use of MEWP by gaining the necessary skills and knowledge required.    On Completion of the course, candidates should  Be able to Operate a MEWP safely, reducing the risk of injury to operators and pedestrians

• Be able to use safe operating techniques
• Be familiar with MEWP operating controls
• Be able to refuel/recharge MEWPS safely
• Understand the hazards associated with the use of MEWP’s 
• Be able to correctly position MEWPS in relation to task requirements

Course Syllabus:

• Confined overhead working
• Ground conditions
• Outriggers
• Guardrails
• Arresting falls
• Falling objects:
• Weather
• Handling materials
• Nearby hazards

Methodology:

Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly. The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

Minimum qualification:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing and reflexes.

Length of Course:

This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.

Course Certification:

Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive  certificates on Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Training

Validity of Certificate: One year.
