Overhead Crane Operator's Safety Training

Course Objectives:

This course is designed to teach participants the essential safety standards, preventative maintenance, and proper procedures as they pertain to safe overhead crane operations. Participants can expect to learn about the safe operations and working environment around overhead cranes throughout this training.

Course Syllabus:

• Introduction to Different Cranes
• Hazards related to Gantry crane operations
• Inspection of lifting equipment before operation.
• Identifying and establishing the correct slings or lifting equipment to use
• Correct location for attaching equipment to the load
• Locating the centre of gravity of the load
• Attaching tag lines
• Correct hand signals for hoisting and moving a load
• Safe operating procedures for lifting or shifting a load
• Correct placing and unhooking of a load

Methodology:

Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly.  The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

Minimum qualification:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.

Length of Course: 

This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.

Course Certification:

Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive certificates on Overhead Crane Operator's Safety Training

Validity of Certificate: One year
