Tower Crane Safety Training

Course Objectives:

• To provide the basic skill requirements, practical application and associated job safety knowledge to personnel involved in tower crane operations and signalling procedures.
• To ensure all are made aware of how to operate tower crane both safely and efficiently.
• To provide the basic skill requirements, practical application and associated job safety knowledge to personnel involved in mobile crane operations and signalling procedures.
• At the end of the course, successful delegates should be able to operate mobile cranes both safely and efficiently.

Course Syllabus:

Machine Terminology:

• Introduction to Different types of lifting devices
• Safe operating procedures
• Pre-operational check and report
• Post-operational maintenance checks
• Basic operating principles:
• Machine controls and functions;
• Machine components and attachments;
• Operation and function of components and attachments;
• Safe working load
• Coordination with rigger and banksman for proper signal
• Hazards related to lifting procedure

Methodology:

Classroom training with PPT presentation. It is assessed by a multiple-choice examination, where the candidate must answer at least 10 out of 15 questions correctly.  The examination will take a maximum of 30 minutes to complete.

Minimum qualification:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be physically and medically fit regarding eyesight, hearing, and reflexes.

Length of Course:

This course is designed to be offered during a minimum of 6 hours.

Course Certification:

Successful participants who passed the written and practical test will receive certificates on Tower Crane Safety Training.

Validity of Certificate: One year.
